The fourth instalment of the rebooted Planet of the Apes universe once again takes fans to a postapocalyptic future when people are no longer the supreme species.
This time, the events take place three hundred years after Caesar’s reign. The story follows a young chimpanzee named Noa and his companion, a girl named Mae. Together, they travel through the apes’ empire, where humans live in the shadows.
Undoubtedly, the best way to dive into the postapocalyptic world is to watch Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes in the cinemas. However, if you’re curious when the movie will be available for home viewing, we’ve got your back.
How to watch Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes now
The new film from the Planet of the Apes universe is available only in cinemas. The movie premiered on 10 May 2024.
In the US, you can book tickets on websites such as AMC and Fandango. In the UK, tickets are available from the likes of Cineworld, Odeon and Vue.

When could Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes be released on VOD?
The movie is distributed by 20th Century Studios, owned by Walt Disney Studios. Usually, it takes around 45 days for a Disney film to appear on VOD, but the exact date depends on how well Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes performs at the box office.
The film has done well so far, earning $127 million in the US and $172 million internationally. That’s a total current gross of over $298 million, making Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes quite a success.
That means the film probably won’t appear on VOD in the coming weeks. The highly profitable smash hit Avatar: The Way of Water dropped on digital three and a half months after the cinematic release. On the other hand, the slightly less profitable film The First Omen will hit VOD after just a month and a half in cinemas.
Based on all of that, we estimate that Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will debut on VOD around mid-to-late June 2024.
When could Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes be released on streaming services?
The fourth instalment of the Planet of the Apes reboot will probably hit streaming after the VOD release. Disney usually puts films on streaming for around a month after digital release.
That means that if our predictions above are correct, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes may premiere on Hulu and Disney+ around mid-to-late July 2024.
When could Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes be released on DVD/Blu-ray?
So far, Disney hasn’t revealed the release date for physical copies of the film. However, we do know that the DVD will feature a pre-VFX, mo-cap version of the movie.
While that is a great bonus feature, physical copies will appear after the movie is released on VOD and streaming. We estimate that Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes may hit DVD and Blu-ray in the fall of 2024.
