The Poco F8 Ultra smartphone has only just been announced with some seriously impressive specs, and it’s already selling at a huge discount.

But that’s not all. When you get to checkout, Amazon will knock a further £50 off, bringing the price down to £499. That’s the same price as the Google Pixel 9a – before it was discounted, at least.
Xiaomi’s Poco sub-brand is known for its generous Early Bird offers, but even that is £549 in this case – £50 more expensive than Amazon’s deal.

Poco F8 Ultra flagship specs
Suffice to say, £499 is an outrageous price to pay for a phone with these specs.
The Poco F8 Ultra comes with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which is as fast as they come. It’s the same chip that powers the £849 OnePlus 15.
You also get a large, vibrant 6.9-inch 120Hz OLED display with a 1200 x 2608 resolution and a 3500 nits peak brightness. Bose is providing the sound here, which even includes a meaty sub-woofer for an uncommon level of low-end kick.
There’s a large 6500 silicon-carbon battery behind the scenes, as well as 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. As I said, it’s a flagship spec.
Poco has also upgraded the camera, with a large 50Mp Light Fusion 950 main sensor and a new 50Mp 5x telephoto, together with a 50Mp ultra-wide.
And the Denim Blue version you see in photos here is one of the coolest smartphone designs we’ve ever seen (or held). But make no mistake, this is a premium phone, now selling at a mid-range price.
