CMF Phone 2 Pro Down To £179 In Early Black Friday Deal

Black Friday season is upon us, but you don’t have to wait until the big deal to secure a brilliant deal on your next phone.

What’s the deal?Why buy it?

The CMF Phone 2 Pro, which has been Tech Advisor’s best budget phone ever since we reviewed it in April, has had its first major price drop.

And while there are no guarantees, it’d be a real surprise to see the prices drop any lower as we approach Black Friday itself, which takes place on 28 November.

What’s the deal?

At full price, the CMF Phone 2 Pro starts at £219 for 128GB of storage – a very respectable price when you consider everything you’re getting.

However, Amazon has slashed the price by 18%, meaning it’s now available for just £179. That’s the lowest price it’s ever been, and simply superb value for a phone that offers everything most people are looking for.

It’s also worth noting that Nothing, CMF’s parent company, is selling the phone for the same price, though it’s currently sold out. Instead, it’s the only place to get the 256GB model, which is down to £209 with a £40 discount.

For both these deals, the same price applies regardless of the colour you choose: Black, Orange, Light Green and White.

Why buy it?

The CMF brand is owned by Nothing, and the Phone 2 Pro distils the best bits of its parent company’s smartphones into something much more affordable.

It offers a genuinely unique design, with exposed screws, swappable back casing and a range of accessories.

However, crucially, it has the performance to back it up. The Phone 2 Pro’s MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro is ideally suited for strong everyday performance, while the 6.77-inch, 120Hz OLED panel would look at home on much more expensive phones.

The device also punches well above its weight in terms of cameras, with no fewer than four solid lenses. Battery life is also strong, lasting two full days with lighter usage or a guaranteed one on those heavier days.

A key advantage compared to the original CMF Phone 1 is NFC support, which enables the likes of Google Pay mobile payments and passport scanning.

And on the software side, Nothing OS is slick and intuitive, matching the feature set of premium devices such as the Nothing Phone (3). However, it’s worth noting that you’re limited to three years of OS updates (six of security patches) and IP54 water and dust resistance.

However, this level of polish and performance is practically unheard of in a sub-£200 phone. It’s no wonder that our expert gave it 4.5 stars in our full review, and it’s sat at the top of our best budget phone guide ever since.
