If it’s not enough that Ubisoft accidentally revealed the release date for Assassin’s Creed Shadows ahead of the cinematic trailer premiere, Season Pass details and now even the official artwork are circulating. The latter is courtesy of Rainbow Six Siege leaker Ubisoft_Frax, seemingly confirming reports of the game’s two playable protagonists.
Reports first emerged last year in March about players controlling a samurai and shinobi (the latter being female). The former is an African refugee, while the latter has seemingly joined the Assassin Brotherhood, though the Hidden Blade isn’t immediately apparent on either. It’s still an open-world action RPG, but Shadows allegedly has heavy stealth mechanics reminiscent of Hitman and Splinter Cell.
This would fit the shinobi well, though time will tell how combat plays out. Assassin’s Creed Shadows reportedly launches on November 15th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. A gameplay reveal is allegedly planned for June 10th at Ubisoft Forward, followed by hands-on impressions from media and content creators on June 12th.
