Amazon Web Services (AWS) has today announced the launch of its 2025 Imagine Grant for Nonprofits, a public grant opportunity open to registered charities in Ireland that are using technology to address some of the country’s most pressing challenges. This marks the second year that the AWS Imagine Grant has been introduced in the Irish market.
The AWS Imagine Grant programme provides essential resources to nonprofit organisations looking to use cloud technology as a central tool to achieve their goals. As part of the programme, AWS invites proposals for innovative ideas on how technology can be leveraged to accelerate impact in both local and global communities.
The Imagine Grant’s Go Further, Faster award will offer up to $50,000 unrestricted cash for highly innovative projects that utilise the cloud. The winner will also receive up to $16,000 in AWS Promotional Credits, and access to AWS technical support and marketing.
Vision Ireland was the inaugural Irish winner of this award in 2024, receiving support for its highly commended vision assistant tool. This tool uses generative AI to provide detailed image descriptions for the blind and visually impaired, enabling users to independently access and interpret visual information, thus enhancing their interactions, independence, and participation in various aspects of life.
Since the launch of the Imagine Grant program in 2018, AWS has awarded over $7 million in unrestricted funds, AWS Promotional Credits, and AWS training support to 92 nonprofit organisations in support of their technology-driven goals. Previous winners are currently using AWS services to tackle critical challenges such as eliminating barriers to food security, improving maternal health outcomes, helping millions access clean and safe drinking water globally, tackling rare disease research, and more.
“At AWS, we are committed to empowering nonprofit organisations to harness the power of cloud technology to drive meaningful change”, said Charlotte Jouffray, AWS Non-Profit Account Manager for Ireland. “Through the Imagine Grant, we are proud to support innovative projects that have the potential to create lasting impact in both local and global communities. We look forward to seeing how this year’s applicants are leveraging technology to tackle some of the most pressing challenges”.
Over 85,000 nonprofit organisations worldwide use AWS to amplify their impact and achieve their mission goals. Through a range of programmes tailored specifically to the nonprofit community, AWS helps organisations of all sizes overcome barriers to technology adoption while enhancing the scale, performance, and capabilities of their operations.
