Prezi AI Review: Using AI to Empower Presentations

“AI-powered presentations” sounds like another Silicon Valley buzzword designed to separate you from your money, doesn’t it? Right up there with “blockchain-enabled toasters” and “machine-learning aloe vera.” That was exactly my thought when I first heard about Prezi AI.

My cynicism comes from experience. I’ve spent more hours than I care to count wrestling with presentation software, trying to make slides that don’t put people to sleep. I’ve seen the promises: “Make stunning presentations in minutes!” and “No design skills needed!”. Only to find myself three hours later still trying to get text to align properly or searching for images that don’t look like they came from a 1990s clipart collection.

So when Prezi (a platform I’ve come to trust over the years) started boasting about their AI capabilities — generating content, suggesting designs, helping with phrasing — I decided to test it.

And now, I’ve formed some opinions about Prezi AI. Let’s break down what works, what doesn’t, and whether you should consider adding it to your professional toolkit.

What Exactly is Prezi AI?

First things first — Prezi AI is exactly what it sounds like: a presentation tool powered by artificial intelligence. But unlike traditional presentation software (although, that’s what they actually were) where you’re staring at a blank slide wondering what to do next, Prezi AI does a lot of the heavy lifting for you.

One of the things that make Prezi stand out (and one of the things that I needed some time getting used to, but definitely worth it) is its different format. Instead of the conventional slide-by-slide approach of PowerPoint or Google Slides, Prezi uses an open canvas format with cinematic movement and zooming effects — creating a unique and more dynamic experience for your audience.

Prezi also helps with:

  • Content creation: Generating text and visuals based on your outline
  • Design: Suggesting layouts and color schemes that actually look good
  • Refine: Reviewing and editing AI-generated content to align with your goals
  • Keywords & Tone: Including relevant keywords and setting the right tone

In simpler terms, you tell it what you want, and it creates a presentation that doesn’t look like it was made by someone who just discovered what a slide transition is.

How Prezi AI Works (It’s Actually Pretty Simple)

The process is broken down into two main steps:

#1: Enter your topic

You type in your idea, and boom — Prezi generates unique custom presentations for you to choose from. No more agonizing over which “template” looks “professional enough” for your quarterly business review, Prezi does content ideation and creation at the same time.

For this example, I’m going with the simple topic of “Weather Forecasting in the Philippines.”

Once you’ve successfully entered your topic, Prezi takes time to collect all information regarding it and create your presentation.

Here’s the Prezi presentation:

I’m impressed. The AI model groups similar concepts together and arranges them in a logical flow that makes sense. The presentation starts by introducing the topic, then moves to current data collection methods, forecasting technologies, and finally addresses challenges and innovation. I especially appreciate how Prezi expands on my initial description, creating a comprehensive and holistic presentation.

One area for potential improvement is the AI-generated images. They’re not quite at the level needed for professional presentations yet. This is something that Prezi has to take note of for the future, especially since newer AI image generators like Midjourney have already fixed issues for text generation.

#2: Customize your look and edit content

Here’s where you can decide on colors, fonts, add images, and pick the design vibe you want. I found this part particularly refreshing because it gives you enough creative control without overwhelming you with too many options.

You can also edit everything with a full-fledged presentation editor that lets you fine-tune your content, style, and transitions when you’re not panicking about deadlines. It has all the functionalities you need — but I do think that the selection (especially for AI-generated styles) can be improved.

What Makes Prezi AI Stand Out?

Alright, so there are dozens of presentation tools out there. Why should anyone care about this one? From my experience, there are a few features that make Prezi AI worth considering.

#1: It Actually Makes Your Stories Pop

Remember the days when we’d sit through presentations that were basically just bullet points on a white background? Prezi AI seems determined to end that nightmare with features like:

  • Flow charts: Shows your audience each step of a process visually
  • Visual lists: Creates lists people actually want to look at (a novel concept, I know)
  • Reveal: Gives your presentation that “wow” moment that keeps people awake
  • Zoom: Captures attention with every movement

One area where Prezi AI really shines is animations. What’s cool is you can also turn bullet points into visual stories with AI help. This creates a more dynamic and impactful presentation without you spending hours figuring out animation timings.

These aren’t just fancy tricks — they’re actually useful for helping your audience understand and remember your content.

#2: It Helps You Phrase Things Better

Let’s be honest — not everyone is a natural wordsmith. Prezi AI offers some valuable help in the form of text length control, language simplification, and bullet point conversion. I find this especially useful when trying to simplify complex topics. The AI actually suggested better ways to phrase certain concepts that I was struggling with.

During my testing, the AI suggested clearer, more concise ways to explain technical concepts that I was struggling to articulate. This feature alone can save you from endless revisions and “Does this make sense?” questions.

#3: Saves Your Time

Going from idea to finished presentation is remarkably fast. What used to take me hours now takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on how much customization I want to do.

If you’ve ever had to create multiple presentations for similar topics, you’ll appreciate how Prezi AI helps you focus on the work that really matters. It handles the repetitive stuff while quickly tailoring your content to your audience’s preferences so you can concentrate on content quality.

Quick Note: What Can’t It Do?

Prezi AI is impressive — don’t get me wrong. However, it’s worth noting its limitations to set realistic expectations:

  • Advanced Data Visualization: If you need complex charts or specialized data visualization beyond basic graphs, you’ll still need to create these separately and import them. And no, their AI can’t make them either.
  • Custom Animations: While the standard animations are excellent, creating highly customized motion graphics or complex animation sequences still requires manual work or specialized software.

To be clear: none of these limitations are deal breakers, but they’d be good to have in future iterations of the platform.

Who is Prezi For?

Prezi AI shines for specific use cases and audiences. Whether it’s worth it depends entirely on what you need from a presentation tool.

It’s right for you if:

  • You make presentations regularly and want to save time
  • You’re not especially confident in your design skills
  • You need to create engaging, visually appealing content quickly
  • You want a tool that helps with both content and design

Maybe look elsewhere if:

  • You need extremely technical or specialized presentations that need complete control over every aspect of your design.

How Much Does Prezi Cost?

Good news for those wanting to try before committing: Prezi has a 14-day free trial for people who just want to dip their toes without commitment. But if you’re in it for the long haul, here’s a basic overview of their price:

The Bottom Line

Prezi AI delivers on its promise to make presentation creation faster and more engaging. It handles the tedious parts while letting you focus on what matters most—your message. The tool offers impressive features that can transform ordinary content into visually compelling stories.

For most people who regularly need to create presentations but don’t have the time or design skills to make them truly engaging, Prezi AI offers a compelling solution. It’s not about replacing your skills — it’s about enhancing them and saving you from the mind-numbing parts of presentation creation.

Is it revolutionary? It’s certainly making waves in the presentation space, especially with its AI-powered approach that helps you create professional-looking content in minutes. If you’re looking to level up your presentation game without spending hours staring at blank slides, Prezi AI is definitely worth considering.

Give it a try. Your audience (and your schedule) will probably thank you.
