First up, if you ‘own’ any crypto, but you are leaving it on an exchange or anywhere that is not on your own cold, hardware wallet, then it is barely yours. It is vitally important to have as secure a hardware wallet for any digital assets you may wish to own, otherwise you are operating a real and serious risk that one day, you may be without those digital assets you thought that you owned.
Cypherock are relatively new to the market, not being around as long as Trezor and other hardware wallets out there. This meant that they did not have the brand profile of these other brands, which was something that our testers commented on. That said, you have to emerge sometime, and a lot of what Cypherock has built seems to be aimed at remedying some of the potential risks associated with their older and longer on the market alternatives. The user interface is good, fairly intuitive and our testers found it fairly self explanatory and easy to navigate. Overall they were positive about using it and felt that it could be learned and mastered by crypto newbies quite quickly.
The Shamir Secret Sharing approach is smart, clever, and seems like an upgrade on the methods used by other, sooner to the market rivals. It is a logical evolution and ups the security and your ability to protect your assets. Our testers liked this and felt it was pretty good, for sure, something better may come onto the market in the future, but, for now, this is a continued improvement in terms of better security and safety for users, both experienced and new to crypto.
